I just heard fox is going to make a magic the the gathering movie. Oh dear lord let it be like lord of the ring or the hobbit rather than people playing a card game

Old news lol but I'm just hoping that Samuel L Jackson or Nicolas Cage is Gideon. If that happens I don't care how bad the movie is or what it's about, I will watch it.

I expect my JaceXKoth crack fiction to finally become canon. Then who'll have the last laugh?

I just heard fox is going to make a magic the the gathering movie. Oh dear lord let it be like lord of the ring or the hobbit rather than people playing a card game Why on earth would a Magic the Gathering movie be like people playing a card game? Magic has a rich and expansive lore to draw from of everything from war to murder to hostile takeovers to class warfare to romance to espionage and the like. I'm fairly certain that if a movie was made it would have its own unique flavor possibly resembling a strange breed of hardcore wizardry and gaslamp fantasy. The possibility of science fiction flavor is also there, provided it's in small, reasonably subtle amounts. I think the most interesting way to approach it is to dive deep enough into the planes of the story that one gets glimpses of life within the strange worlds. Personally I'd love to see what a week in Ravnica consists of, involving an ensemble cast. I'm of the opinion that an animated series could be made, a pseudo-anthology series with mixed art styles. Throw in both stories that can be appreciated on their own and then ultimately work towards the resolution of certain arcs and I think you'd have a real winner.
